EditionThe beginning of Madden 22 coins every NFL season brings EA's Madden 22. This is a particularly exciting version for LA Chargers fans as Justin Hebrert's score will be higher than when he was a rookie in Madden 21.
Herbert's rating isn't yet released as ratings are slowly released. We have the ratings of two different Charger players, Joey Bosa and Keenan Allen. Allen is an overall 93rd and is among the top ten rated wide receivers in the NFL. This is an amazing surprise, even when Keenan Allen is usually slept on.
Joey Bosa's Madden 22 score is solid however, it leaves room to increase for the LA Chargers edge rusher.
Joey Bosa is a Madden 22 left-side linebacker who's a 95 overall (in previous editions, he was a right end but since the LA Chargers switching to a 3-4 defense, he is now a left-side linebacker). It is hard to find fault with the rating Bosa received as he is one of the top edge rushers you can find.
Bosa acknowledges that this isn't the case. By the time the season comes to an end and the Madden team adjusts the ratings the player should be in the upper-90s. It's not a surprise to find out that Bosa was rated lower than Aaron Donald as a defensive lineman.
The reason for this is Staley. Bosa has already been an elite player in his professional career, however Staley has made money by making elite players be even more effective. Von Miller and Khalil Mack prospered under Staley. In fact, Mack had a career year with Staley as his coach for outside linebackers. He hasn't reached the same standard since. Mack remains an excellent player, but he hasn't been able replicate the success of his 2018 season. He had the best matchups with Staley after which he was traded to buy Mut 22 coins the Denver Broncos with Vic Fangio.
